Welcome to Servants’ Feast Christian Ministry
Servants’ Feast Christian Ministry (SFCM) invites persons to deepen their relationship with Christ by introducing Christians to the rich heritage and teaching of the historic and universal Church. Beginning with understanding that knowledge of God should lead inevitably to love of God. Servants’ Feast is helping Christians strengthen their relationship with God by helping each person discover his/her own journey in Christ, a journey of transformation that begins with the renewing of the mind.
About Our Ministry
Servants’ Feast Christian Ministry was founded by Rev. Elizabeth Moreau, an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. Shortly after going on incapacity leave, Rev. Moreau began writing studies for the local church. Her experience as a pastor made her aware that laity often desire more than is offered. Christians want to be more faithful disciples, but few resources exist for deep and authentic spiritual formation in the local church. Following an overwhelmingly positive response to her studies, Rev. Moreau officially founded Servants’ Feast in 2006.
Servants’ Feast began as a teaching effort to introduce contemporary Christians to the treasures of the ancient Christian Church. The Early Church experienced the Triune God with the whole of the human being – heart, soul, mind and strength (cf. Mark12:30). Today, the western Christian community pursues knowledge about God, but knowledge about God is not knowledge of God. The primary goal of Servants’ Feast is to draw all people into the life of God Himself. Servants’ Feast is committed to Paul’s instructions to “be renewed by the transforming of your minds” (cf. Rom. 12:2), which is the intimate spiritual reality of Jesus Christ that transcends emotional and cognitive activity. Perhaps as never before in recent history, Christians need to be able to love God with our minds, explaining and defending the Christian faith to a skeptical and confused world. As the Apostolic and Early Church Fathers lived and worshiped through the vast consequences of Jesus’s life, death, and Resurrection, they articulated a deep and profound knowledge of God that still holds the power to transform the Body of Christ today.
Our Pathway Studies
Servants’ Feast produces studies for the local church, the express goal of which is to draw Christians into the life of God. The foundational offering of Servants’ Feast is From Called To Sent: From Disciple to Apostle, a three-year study that immerses individuals in the mind of Christ through the riches we have received over the centuries. The first year of this study is now available for utilization in the local church. The full curriculum will be completed in the Spring of 2017. Additional studies are being made available each year, including a study on suffering, He Gave Up His Spirit, which is in the final stages of production and due to release by the end of 2016. Additional studies are in various stages of research for future release.
