Daily Readings for
Easter 7 & Pentecost
The Christian Year is organized around the major events of Jesus' life, all of which have meaning for our salvation, our growth and sanctification as Christians, and our destiny as the children of God.
Pentecost is the last act of salvation to take place before the Return of Christ. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all people marks the new birth of all who pursue Christ, as well as all God created - the redemption that prepares the whole of Creation to be restored to God.
Pentecost is a single day on the Church calendar, although some churches opt to celebrate for a season, similar to the Easter Season.
Note: The visit of Mary to Elizabeth celebrates the divinely given pregnancies of two women whom God chose for their obedience and faithfulness as participants in His salvation of all people.
