Readings beginning
Wednesday, Dec. 13:
Daily readings are taken from the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Psalms, and the Proverbs, with the Psalms and Proverbs read through twice over the course of the year.
The study of Scripture is an endless well of living water, for through the pages of the Bible, God is revealed. If we prayerfully approach the readings each week, we will discover that our Lord speaks to us, leads us, corrects us, and ministers to us, always to the end of abundant life in Christ Jesus.
Challenge: Keep a notepad beside you as you read and make a note of each passage that prefigures or points toward Christ. How many times does a prophet foretell our Savior and the events of His life, death, and Resurrection? Continue to do this through the remainder of the readings until Christmas. Would you have recognized the Messiah when He arrived? Why or why not?
